summer time

as a house we already kicked off our summer traveling by heading to seneca to visit family, theillalogicalspoon played a show, some of us went to the junk store and antique mall, and we hung out with the dog and goat. it was a good time and beautiful scenery, pennsylvania would be my second choice to michigan. anyway, now that the summer is upon us in about 2 more weeks our numbers are going to be fewer. with fesitvals and all the beauty to be seen we will all be heading out into the world, which will cause problems with continutity regarding our thursday nights, but have no fear, as long as a few of us are in town we will have the potlucks, and new interesting conversation is always welcome. but since the leader of the bible studies is to be one of the first of us headed out we are going to put those on hold until he comes back. keep an eye on our upcoming events thing to know if we are having the potlucks or not, maybe we can start having them in parks and such too, change of scenery...also the garden is going to be huge (if everything lives) when everything is producing fruit you can have some.

look at the beauty around you and thank the creator

dinner and a movie

"thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven", was the chapter we went through last thursday in our study of the Lord's Prayer. this thursday we will watch the movie Romero which tells the story of the life and work of Archbishop Oscar Romero who opposed, at great personal risk, the tyrannical repression in El Salvador in the 1970's. it is a very powerful film about one persons struggle to work for God's will on earth as it is in heaven.

we won't have our normal liturgy. just dinner and a movie. dinner will be earlier just this week: 5:30pm

see you there.

later that evening some of us will be going over to Matt's Cafe on Mechanic St. for Jon Hart's Thunderbird Thursday -music and coffee and stuff.

here's a link to some info on oscar romero: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/%C3%93scar_Romero

tom waits and pancakes

this morning the wonderful chef edwin made everyone blueberry pancakes. most of them were the standard circles, but he did venture out and make one mickey mouse and a triangle. of course while music filled the house we all enjoyed our delicious breakfast.
